Guilt free Thursdays

Nicola Bleakley Banks on Move to Unislim

Nicola Bleakley, sister of gorgeous ‘One Show’ host Christine Bleakley, has recently given up her nine to five role at a bank to host the Unislim classes that helped her battle her own bulge and lose an incredible seven stone in only one year. Her Unislim drop in centre will be held in Jury’s Inn on Thursdays where head chef, Dave Barley, will prepare scrumptious Unislim meals every week for the slimmers should they wish to dine in the hotel restaurant.

Barley said he was inspired by the choice and variety on the Unislim menu plan, commenting, “Anyone planning on coming along to the drop in centre in Jury’s Inn on Thursdays are in for a real treat! The recipes are really different and fresh and will completely challenge the traditional ideas of tasteless, boring ‘diet food’. I am cooking from an extensive Unislim menu, which means Unislimmers can still enjoy ‘dining out’ whilst keeping to the Unislim lifestyle. Each delicious dish will be healthy, fresh and guilt free!”

With her own success story behind her, Nicola is a perfect role model for thousands of slimmers in Northern Ireland, and is looking forward to her new responsibilities inspiring potentially thousands of women to take the plunge and give up bad eating habits for good. She said: “At just 18 years of age, I found myself full of bad habits, going to bed every night with a full fat fizzy drink, a bag of crisps and some chocolate. I wasn’t doing any exercise either, so the maths are pretty simple – I was 17 ½ stone!”

Unislim has had huge success and is Ireland’s longest running slimming and health club. Still operating as a family business, with 69 year old founder Agnes McCourt from Warrenpoint at the helm, the business idea was born when Agnes rounded up a few friends to lose weight with her after the birth of her third baby. Today, the healthy lifestyle plan incorporates low-GI food with increased exercise for a real change and sustained weight loss that can be kept off. And, having won Slimmer of the Year in 2004, Nicola is living proof of the long term results!
So whether you are inquisitive about the Unislim programme and want to sample the wares or if you’re a member, why not pop into Jurys Inn on a Thursday for some guilt free food that you can feel good about eating?
