I joined Unislim in August 2010 my leader was Jacquleen Henderson the class was in Merville House.
I decided to join Unislim for a number of reasons. I had put weight on over a number of years and had attempted to lose it but never succeeded.
The final straw came when I had a fall down the stairs and broke my leg. This was bad enough but the worst was I couldn’t get myself up the stairs to go to the bathroom. I was too heavy, my upper body was not strong enough to move my lower body up the stairs. I ended up using a commode and a Zimmer frame to help me get about. Then to add insult to injury I strained my shoulders just due to my weight.
This was it I knew I had to do something or I was going to have a very slow recovery and probably not be able to do all I had before the fall leaving weaknesses in my body.
When I joined Jacqueline’s class we discussed my current weight and how the Maximising plan was going to help me. Jacquleen told me my BMI and were we needed to get to. Jacquleen suggested we take it slowly, half a stone as my first target. I remember thinking I would love to do that, but I have been unsuccessful before. After the talk I felt a bit more confident, Jacquleen gave me her mobile number and over the first week Jacquleen rang me to see how I was getting on.
Since August last year I have lost weight almost every week I feel so much healthier as well as mobile.
I have even started to do exercise every day at home something I never believed I would ever be able to do.
