I joined Unislim on October 3rd, 2010. I joined initially for health reasons as I was suffering from severe pain in my knee as a result of arthritis and I knew myself I was overweight and wanted to lose the weight.
I had joined other clubs and groups for weight loss in the past but this time it felt different. I was determined this time to lose the weight and keep it off.
Alice, my leader, welcomed me into the group and showed me tremendous support from day one. She was very encouraging and would text me every week to provide support and let me know that I was doing a great job. The other member s in my group were also a great support to me and each other as we compared stories and notes.
The key to my success was attending class every week and tracking all the food I ate, especially the carbohydrates, making sure I had the right weights and took the right number of portions. It was also very important for me to drink plenty of water and to get regular exercise which I did by walking and using my exercise bike every day.
Today I feel far more confident and I am down 4 dress sizes so far. I have more energy than ever before and its lovely to meet someone you haven’t seen in a while and they notice your weight loss and compliment you. I couldn't have done this without my class leader.
