What made you join Unislim, Alcantra?
I always had a tendency to be heavy. But in the last five years, my weight began to increase steadily. It wasn't necessarily a case of the quantity of food I was eating, but the type of foods, predominantly high calorie, and carbohydrate-full foods. When I found out my cousin was in Unislim and successfully losing weight, I decided to go along and give it a try.
How did your weight loss plan go?
I found the classes motivating and encouraging. I liked the unit system because I could still enjoy eating things that I liked, including chocolate! With the unit system and exercise, the weight began to go down. Each time I took to the treadmill I focused on a size 14 burgundy dress I wore on New Years Eve a number of years ago and thought \"I will get into that dress again\".
A year later and a lot has changed. I'm over four stone lighter, I eat well - all the right things, with a little bit of bad on the side! I still attend my Unislim class every week, and realise now this is my way of life.
How have your eating habits changed?
Instead of craving all the wrong food, I now crave the right food. I know when I haven't had my daily dose of vegetables. That's the type of food I miss now. Bizarre, but true!
What's the best thing about having lost weight?
Being a lot healthier and being able to move around makes a big difference. Being able to go into any shop and try on clothes is great now!
What advice would you give to someone who wants to lose weight?
Give Unislim a go. My friend, my cousins and their friends have all started with Unislim now. You need to sit down and talk to someone who's in Unislim and they can encourage you. But once it clicks in your head, you're on your way. And anyway there's no harm in trying ..
