When I stood in a shop changing room, stomach sucked in, finding it hard to breath, trying to squeeze into a very tight size 18 pair of trousers, rather than a more breathable size 20 (that I really needed!). Wearing these trousers for the first time made me realise that I would rather be uncomfortable than admit I was as big as I was. I had bought yet another pair of jeans – to tight to wear again. And again as I did on several occasions before, promised to go on a diet to fit into them.

This was the moment I said I am going to lose the weight once and for all. Over the past two years I had tried numerous diets but lacked the self-motivation and drive needed to successfully lose the necessary weight and keep it off. I heard of Unislim through a friend, who told me of her mother’s success with Unislim. I decided to take the first step and go to my first meeting. The taught of getting on the scales was daunting at first but once I walked into the meeting room, I realised there was a lot of other people in the same situation as me, I began to relax a lot and I knew that was the beginning of my new life.

Before joining Unislim my diet was filled with crisps, chocolate, fried food and take-aways. Unislim has taught me to replace my fried food with boiled and grilled food – it also opened up a whole new variety of foods into my diet and helped me replace unhealthy convenience meals with healthier freshly prepared foods and when time was lacking I used Unislim ready made meals. My tastes have totally changed, I am eating more fruit and veg and less chocolate and sweets and don’t even think about it any more, it has become a new way of life for me. It has also helped me make better choices when I am on a night out eg I now drink “light” cider or take a “diet” drink with a vodka which I would never have taught of before.

I did find it hard at times, and found it easier if I allowed myself little treats after I reach certain goals I had set myself. One of the goals I set myself was to do more exercise and join a gym. In joining the gym my main aim was to help my weight lose but after a few weeks I felt more confident and motivated in both my exercise and Unislim diet and began to see more dramatic results.
