“I assumed Unislim would be very female-dominated, but I soon discovered that everyone in the class had the same goal: to lose weight and feel better about themselves. From the first week I realised that I needed to be very strict with myself in order to achieve lasting results. That meant cutting out alcohol completely for a certain period, as not only is beer fattening it can be held accountable for late night junk food trips at the weekend! I cut right down on my sugar intake also, and removed refined carbohydrates from my diet.
Processed foods were swapped for fruit and vegetables and I drank as much water as I possibly could.
The difference between Unislim and any other weight loss 'techniques' I had tried is that it teaches you about nutrition.
Nutrition is absolutely key: unless you understand it you can't expect to change your lifestyle or your appearance. I think that good nutrition is vital for everybody, and I would strongly encourage people to learn more about what they're putting into their bodies and how this affects them. I always compliment people when they lose weight because I appreciated hearing positive comments from friends and family as the weight came off for me. Hearing that you're doing well not only feels great; it encourages you towards further success. Today I take regular exercise while choosing the natural foods that will boost my mood and my confidence. I will never go back to my old ways. Why? Because I've learned that this is a better way to live."
