My name is John Conroy and I am an 18 year old student from Tullamore. As a child I was never big, but my weight started to fluctuate during my teen years. I never paid any attention to it, even though I should have because it was getting worse and worse. It wasn’t until Christmas 2003 and New Year 2004 that I started to think about how serious it had got.

I could only shop in the one shop in town as it was the only shop that did my size (48” trousers). That’s when I made up my mind and a friend and I decided to join Unislim.

My first week I lost 7lbs and have had continued success since then. Obviously I have had some ups and downs, but Mary, the class leader, was so encouraging in the class every week and it was her that made me realize that there was alight at the end of this road.

Now I am 6lbs off losing 6 stone and I have gone from a 48” waist to a 36-38”. A massive 12” off! I still shop in the same shop, but now I buy what I like and not what I have to.

I feel amazing now and the compliments I get just keep on coming.
