Hi Mumsy & Miss M
2 low low cheeses triangles = 1 other protein. 150ml prune juice = 1 fruit. 30g chorizo = 1 other protein.
Hope this helps, look out in classes SOON for booklet with all this info in, we are working away like beavers on it at the minute.

Another question! In maxi star treats, a 330ml bottle beer/cider/lager is one star, and yet a light bottle of the same is one and half stars! Is this correct? I'm hoping the right answer is the light beer is only half a star!

Hi All, Here are all the answers to your questions : RTL...Coorsl Light IS just 1 star....Good news at then end of the day, what? Slim S 17...Check out our UGO ( Unit / Star Guide OUT ) booklet McDOnalds Chicken Nuggets are 1 star treat EACH. It's difficult for me to put a value on the breaded chicken breast as the size varies so much and is it real chicken or something ELSE? BUt you are looking at approx 6 - 8 star treats. My advice is this - Sometimes you just have to make difficult choices and these include cutting out food like that or making it at home where you are in control of it. You could make that breaded chicken at home with FREE chicken and 2 slices of LOW GI bread crumbs, which would be 2 carbs, a much better choice. All of the taste. I hope this helps,

Hi there, I was wondering could someone tell me where phildephia (sp) extra lights fall in on the maxi plan please? Also, the little packets of melba toast - how many carbs would one packet be? Used to have this as a snack in the afternoon in work and have been staying clear of it but would like to know :) Thanks.

Hello, new to the programme and just had a couple of questions....
Yoghurt/chocolate covered rice cakes
Nature valley granola bar
nature valled mixed berry bar
Also, I started on the units at first as I did not know about maxi, doing this at home. I was wondering if I can work out the units of an unknown food, does one unit equal one star on maxi??
Another question, sorry, is that I live far too close to an Avoca cafe.... The scones are so massive how many stars would that take? Thought that maybe the bowl of fresh berries and a slice of brown bread would be the best option, it is just difficult if you are meeting friends!!!
Many thanks x

Hi All,
Here are a few answers to your questions.
Pink Lady - Phili light, as a low fat cheese - 30g under “other
proteins” for regular or light cream cheese, 50g for extra-light. Melba toast - I would recommend that you steer clear, they are high GI and really nothing in them at all. Choose 2 oat cakes or 2 rye crackers instead. as 1 low GI carb. There are some lovely ones on the market.
Cookiestar - Rice cakes are HIGH GI and no filling. The choc covered ones have to be counted as a treat star at 1* each.....not worth it. The natures valley bars come in under med / high GI ( honey etc ) and need to be counted as 1.5* treats per bar. 1 unit = 1 *, so if you have our YUG booklet you will find this really helpful. The scone COULD = 6-8 units / stars ..and that is without anything on....better choose something else! The fresh berries are an excellent choice but the bread could weigh very heavy. Could you have a FREE salad with some chicken, do they do pitta or wraps?
Think about all the ways you CAN make this work. Deviating from the plan delays target weight.

Can anyone suggest if crackers of an sort are permitted/ 'm not mad keen on Ryvita. My mad eejit of a husband bought me a cheese hamper of all things as one of my birthday presents ! In fairness he had it ordered from before I joined up! But I am going to have 40g of it a day, and share the rest with friends.
