3 Ways to Boost Weight Loss - Instantly


Have you been stuck at the same weight for several weeks? Are you tired of jumping onto the scales after a fantastic week and finding that you haven’t lost an ounce? We have all been there and it can be incredibly frustrating. But much as we would like to bang our heads off the brick wall that we have come to, we must persevere in order to get results.

Many of us find it easy to stick to eating the same things each week, but this allows our bodies to get used to our routine and can get in the way of our results. Here’s three tips to give you a kick start:

Make your plate smaller!

When we fill our ten inch dinner plates, we don’t always weigh our portions and sometimes “guesstimate” the unit value.   This may not have hindered your weight loss before, but now it is time to step it up a notch. You may find it helpful to switch your ten inch dinner plate to a smaller eight inch plate.  This way you are automatically reducing how much you eat without feeling a dramatic difference.

Remember, if you are still hungry, you can always top up on your zero-unit vegetables. Watch out for sweetcorn, beetroot, parsnips, peas and potatoes– as they all contain units!

Add one more exercise session to your week.

We should all be exercising in order to lose weight – but are you getting enough?

If you are having trouble losing your weight, you should aim to introduce one more session of exercise into your plan. Exercise burns calories and boosts our metabolism so it is essential that we make it part of our weekly routine. If you have a busy life, another exercise session does not have to take up hours of your day; it can simply be adding a thirty minute walk to your day by leaving the car fifteen minutes from work! If this doesn’t appeal to you, turn the TV off for an hour at night and go to the gym, or splash about in your local swimming pool or put on Unislim’s exercise DVD.  Try something new!

Drink an extra two glasses of water!

Drinking water is one of the easiest parts of the Unislim plan, and one of the most important. Water makes every organ in our body work, hydrates us, boosts the metabolism makes us feel less tired and slows down the aging process (an added bonus!) so it’s really worth boosting our intake.  We can drink it in any number of ways, such as iced, fizzy, flavoured or in fruit infused teas. If you start in the morning by taking a glass, and then drink one before and after your meals, you are well on your way to achieving your eight-glass-per-day target. Drinking water will definitely improve your weight loss, so make a conscious effort to drink an extra two glasses, and you will see the results.

Losing weight is difficult for all of us – sometimes, even when we put in our best efforts we do not see the results we so long for. However, if you push on and don’t head for the Danish Pastries when you get a disappointing result, you will get a very pleasant surprise at your next weigh in at your Unislim class!
